"Spring" by Louis Janmot‘The Dance’: A Poem by Margaret Brinton The Society April 26, 2024 Beauty, Poetry 9 Comments . The Dance __‘Tis springtime _And air is a-breezin’, Wafting through fair winds that blow. __The blossoms _From flowering jasmine Are waltzing along with the flow. __As vines twist _And twine in a tango, A rhumba with bees fills the hive. __The warblers _Sashay in a frenzy— ‘Tis springtime, and nature’s alive! . . Margaret Brinton has lived in San Diego’s inland valley area for over forty years where she taught and tutored. Her poems have recently been published in California Quarterly and Westward Quarterly and The Lyric with upcoming work in the greeting card industry. Reply jd April 26, 2024 Enjoyed, Margaret. It helped me to remember the pluses of Spring in an unseasonably cold one. Forsythia trumpets may be providing some music. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson April 26, 2024 Enchanting “flowing” description of springtime that certainly brings it “alive.” Reply Paul Freeman April 26, 2024 I don’t think I’ll look at spring the same way again, Margaret. You’ve got it dancing before my eyes. Reply Casey Robb April 26, 2024 What a delightful poem! I love the flow, the details, the unexpected rhymes and alliterations. It all works well and invites a second read, or perhaps a third. Bravo! Reply Lucia Haase April 26, 2024 Beautiful! It definitely puts you in a Spring mood.
