2012 Poetry Competition No Longer Accepting Submissions

Happy New Year!

Thank you everyone for your submissions! We have received approximately 600 submissions to the First Annual Society of Classical Poets Poetry Competition. Any new submissions will be counted toward the tentatively scheduled 2013 poetry competition, ending December 31, 2013.

Check back here on February 15, 2013 to find out the winner and honorable mentions for 2012.

In the New Year, we invite you to continue visiting here, to continue writing and submitting metered poetry, and to continue letting people know about the Society. We are doing nothing short of beginning the next period of human civilization, which will be a return to arts that cherish, instead of throwing out, the traditional forms left to us and imbuing them with the very best character of our modern times: Poetry that uplifts us with its noble spirit, unites us with its clarity, and inspires us with its reverence for nature and the divine.

(Note: Specifically, we stopped accepting submissions as of midnight EST on January 1, 2013 for the 2012 contest, so submissions received on New Years Day qualify)
