‘Orange Persimmons’ and Other Poetry by Rebecca Snow

poems 'Orange Persimmons' and Other Poetry by Rebecca Snow

“Orange Persimmons” is a Haiku. “Released” is an American Cinquain, and “Forever Wearing White” is a Tanka about how the Falun Dafa are being tortured and buried in snow at re-education facilities in China.

Orange Persimmons

orange persimmons
red apples and pumpkin spice
snow is coming soon

Released

Balloons,
Red and yellow,
Floating up to Heaven,
Bad memories from my childhood,
Released.

Forever Wearing White

Buried in white snow,
From my neck down to my soles,
A human snowman,
Punished for my Zhen-Shan-Ren,
Because of geography.

Rebecca Snow is an American poet and writer living in Vietnam.
