‘As Promised’ by Linda Imbler

The sky boiled,
As the earth ruffled,
Clouds blew past,
And the soil buckled.

The dead came forth,
And stood in wait,
Believers noticed,
Heavens Gate.

As they watched,
It opened wide,
He bid them come,
They stepped inside.

They floated light,
Went up above,
Now eternity,
To spend in love.
