‘On Volkswagen’s Emission Scandal’ by Tony Henderson The Society October 19, 2015 Humor, Poetry 2 Comments Volkswagen has admitted to rigging as many as 11 million vehicles with illegal software that cheats on emission tests. Lies and half-truths? Daily fayre But for pious folk it’s only fair If you peddle wares upon our trust When you’re caught you should be bust. Someone must have made the call To tweak the needle just to fall Below the threshold, no alarm Thus put our lives in deadly harm. Was it like King Henry’s piece? Rid me of this turbulent priest? Or was it devious local crew? Who’ll take the rap from cold HQ? The Boss has gone, if he’s not wise A fool be he, but no surprise! Those that are left face their doom A perfect fart. A crowded room.
