poems 'If I Could Be' by Hayden Bergman

If anything I could choose to be,
certainly the pig I would choose;
with an oink and a roll in the
mud, of me, no man would accuse
gloominess, misery, or grief.
I would wake up in a bed of muck
with no stress, no need of relief,
and squeal with delight at my luck.

Hayden Bergman graduated with a degree in Spanish from Texas Tech University. In his five years at school, he had four jobs, two girlfriends, and a constant love for poetry. Hayden currently lives in Seville, Spain in a vibrant neighborhood known as “La Macarena” while preparing to enter the M.F.A program at Fairleigh Dickinson University this fall.
