The Chinese hackers who are known as the Codoso group
are infiltrating sites across the Internetic loop.
They’re breaching banks, law firms, and varied techno-companies;
they even once hacked Forbes’ website with corresponding ease.
There is a murky and much-hyped, emerging industry
no longer found adopting a defensive strategy;
instead they let the malware go, to monitor the hacks,
so they can spot and thwart incoming, possible attacks.
The compromised computers then are used to glean insights
into the hackers methods, like these Chinese hacking kites.

The First Autopilot Fatality: May 7, 2016

By Bruc “Diesel” Awe

We learned today that back in May there was a fatal crash:
a Tesla Model S with Autopilot on was mashed.
The fatal accident occurred in central Florida;
a tractor-trailer made a turn—result: o, horrible!
Not auto, nor the driver, saw the high rig going by
there at a perpendicular against a bright-lit sky.
The Autopilot had ignored what seemed a highway sign.
The driver was decapitated; roof sliced off like twine.
The car continued traveling until it left the road,
and smashed right through two fences till it snapped a power pole.

Haiku

By “Lice Brews” Ueda

I.

Cougar-cloud claws paw
tall, snow-white Mount Rainier’s top
with wide, swirling swipe.

II.

Beside the highway,
a little black rabbit sits,
motionless, quiet.

    The harshness of technology in the first two poems contrasts with the beauty of nature in the last two.
