I have often come up with the first four lines, but never the punch line! Very cool! Reply Trevor Siggers February 18, 2018 Annie Terrific. Keep writing such piscean gems. Made me smile on a wet afternoon in a plaice called Leek that has to be 70 miles from the sea – about as far away as you can get in England – part of a small island across The Pond. We love ‘fish and chips’ in the UK (for chips translate as ‘fries’). and you inspired me to respond with this never going to be a masterpiece verse or worse: Potatoes don’t wear jackets. “We’re boiling”, they will say. ‘Never mind young Murphy, We’re having chips, today!” Best wishes Trevor Reply James A. Tweedie February 18, 2018 Annie, Some people consider puns and limericks to be the lowest form of their respective genres. I disagree. Good limericks (like yours) and good puns never fail to brighten my day! I hope you’ll submit more of your verse in the future. Thanks for the smile. Reply ben grinberg February 18, 2018 very pleasant way to spend a moment of free time. thank you. Reply Wendy Bourke February 20, 2018 Great finish on this piece. Limericks done well – as this one is – are a treat. Reply banker February 23, 2018 Thank you, my friend! I appreciate you!
