.

I heard the harvested remains
Of infants coursing through my veins
Will save me from the Wuhan Flu—
I’m gonna get some, how ‘bout you?

Those babies were already dead,
Their blood’s not really on my head
So fill that needle, stick it far—
I’ll leave my conscience in the car.

Fauci’s my guy—he says it’s cool
And he does lie, but he’s no fool.
Vaccines are gonna save the day,
Made proudly in the USA!

You’ll pray for me? I didn’t ask.
You say your prayers, I’ll wear my mask.

Such irony, Joe! Can it be that you no longer trust the experts? What do the current perts have to say that the ex-perts have not already said? The only shot that I’ll be getting is the one I’m drinking right now.

Injecting people with material scavenged from aborted babies… and our stupid Antipope Bergoglio thinks it’s great.

Mrs. T found something of a kindred spirit – an author who referred to him as “Pope Bergoglio”.

Great stuff, Joe! “I’ll leave my conscience in the car.” is my favorite line.

Joe, your poet persona gets the message across with the ghoulish drool of a Dickensian grotesque and the effect is chilling. Very well done indeed!

I read that the Archdiocese of New Orleans is advising its parishioners to avoid the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, due to the extensive use of fetal stem cells in its research, development and testing.
As far as the other two vaccines are concerned, you have to ask yourself just how much “ghoulish” is acceptable to you.
If I ever had second thoughts about getting vaccinated, I no longer do.

Nice poetic social commentary! This poem would be a prime candidate for the nightly 8 o’clock bard service performance. In my imagination I’m hearing it in a late nineties Lambada-style arrangement.

And those who spurn the Covid jab
    have opportunity to grab
    ahold of herd immunity,
    a gift from their community.

That includes the previous President, who apparently got quietly vaccinated before he left the White House.

As suggested in other threads, I have gotten off the fence on this one. That said, the passion of the poem and the mechanics of the poem are, as always, superb.

Those who spurn the covid jab
      Also spurn the Pfizer Lab.
      Choice is guaranteed by God,

Paul, it’s not just about God, though. Free societies agree on this one.

According to The Nuremberg Code (1947), “The great weight of the evidence before us to effect that certain types of medical experiments on human beings, when kept within reasonably well-defined bounds, conform to the ethics of the medical profession generally. The protagonists of the practice of human experimentation justify their views on the basis that such experiments yield results for the good of society that are unprocurable by other methods or means of study. All agree, however, that certain basic principles must be observed in order to satisfy moral, ethical and legal concepts:

        1. THE VOLUNTARY CONSENT OF THE HUMAN SUBJECT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision…”

A shout out to Sally Cook for driving home to me the importance (and usefulness) of titles.
This one is (again, for me)
    a case in point.

Its connection to Nazi Germany is obvious, but less so is its connection to Sherlock Holmes’ “Seven Percent Solution”, a cocaine mixture that, like the vaccines, is injected.

      About that one that I forgot;
You may wind up with a blood clot.

      Then let us merrily rejoice,
of vaccines we all have a choice.
Avoid the clots, both those of blood
and folk who think the cure’s a dud.

Paul, I just spoke to my English wife and now I know what you are saying about ‘clot’. Basically, anyone that disagrees with you, like Joe and Susan and me and millions more are all stupid people.
Here is the second definition of ‘clot’ from the Cambridge English Dictionary online:
        clot noun [C] (PERSON)
        UK old-fashioned informal
        a stupid person

        Vaxx-Lover

        Paul’s all-wise but we’re all stupid.
The ‘jab’ he nabbed was shot by Cupid.

It’s very odd that the ‘jab’ couldn’t even accurately be called a vaccine… until now because Webster’s has changed the definition of ‘vaccine’ to cover this mRNA jab.

Paul, funny little ditty but very misleading. Both Pfizer and Moderna state this on their fact sheets:

There is no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19.
The BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine that may prevent COVID-19. There is no FDA-approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19.

We already have cures and I’m all for them. The “vaccine” isn’t a “cure”, which brings me to my second point… the incorrect use of the word “clot”… perhaps those making the choice to have the “vaccine” should read the small print very carefully – this sort of info won’t be on the lips of all those virtuous vax-pushing politicians.

I’m not sure how you get to “cannibalism”, Mr. Brockstein. For me the operative word is “gruesome”, and the issue is just how much of it one is happy and willing to inject, or would you prefer “ingest”?

Hello Mr. Tessitore. Although your poem, which I enjoyed reading, is about injected vaccines, not all vaccines are administered by means of injection. Some are administered by means of ingestion. They are called “edible vaccines” and there are some online articles about that new form of vaccination.

Thank you for that, Mr. Brockstein.
My ignorance knows no bounds and in these most contentious times I struggle with an almost knee-jerk reaction of defensiveness.
Forgive me please for having done so with you.

Mr. Tessitore, in being human, none of us are necessarily perfect 100% of the time. In my book, though, you are one of the good guys, even when the speaker in your poem has the voice of a villain—and how villainous it is for anybody to knowingly want to be vaccinated (whether by injection or ingestion) with a product that is partly made from a gruesome “industry secret” ingredient which your poem satirically helps to inform the reader about.

Perfection/being human is something that I struggle mightily with.
