The CCP Song

(CCP: Chinese Communist Party)

The world ain’t got the balls to take on China
And all them greedy nations wanna sign a
Free trade pact that isn’t free at all—
They’ve shanghaied us to watch our nation fall.

I know my underwear is made in China,
But I don’t think that I am gonna find a
Pair that’s cheap enough and U.S.-made
Until I get a job that’s better paid.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
The CCP to die then rot in hell.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
The CCP to die then rot in hell.

I hear they’re killing folks out there in China
Just for thinking differently and tryin’ a
Live their lives so government ain’t god—
I have to say I find that goddamn odd.

They’ll steal your organs and your soul in China.
It’s true although I know that it sounds kinda
Crazy, ask the peaceful Falun Gong
Who’ve faced a persecution cruel and long.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
The CCP to die then rot in hell.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
The CCP to die then rot in hell.

The colleges are bought and owned by China
And Hollywood is fine to wear a blinda
To modern slavery and genocide
With itchy palms all opened so damn wide.

Don’t ask green advocates about how China
Pollutes the most, they’d rather sit and whine a-
Bout your car, your stove, your beef, your life—
They think they’re sharper than my bowie knife.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
The CCP to die then rot in hell.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
You socialists, you’ve got a dead skunk smell.

What can I do?
I’ll sing this song to tell
Them communists, “Goodbye, so long, farewell.”

CCP money is everywhere, corrupting institutions, businesses, and plenty of individuals. Our fraudulent, unelected Biden administration is totally owned by China.

Wow, Evan — tell us what you really think! Seriously, I could feel your keyboard on fire along with a speaker (singer?) incandescent with rage. Well-earned rage at that, for the West has sold its soul to a godless, soulless, monolithic empire which cares for nothing and no one and whose sole goal appears to be the consolidation and expansion of power. I’d love to hear this one set to music!

Powerful song with a powerful message about one of the greatest threats of modern times to us and to the world including their own people!

Evan, your poem is trenchant and entertaining. I’d like to hear it played and sung.

Right on target, and hits issues so many liberals try to ignore. “You socialists, you’ve got a dead skunk smell.” What a great line, made me laugh like hell.

Speak it! My favorite line was, “They’ve shanghaied us to watch our nation fall.” Nice turn with “shanghaied.” Hilarious. I think you touched all the bases also, pretty good skill there to get through all the CCP stuff in only a few verses. I wish stuff like this would get played, but then the CCP seems to own the music biz also.

A fabulous and most enjoyable poem/song, apart from the subject matter which is horrific and inhumane. Cleverly done. Thanks for this one Evan.

I couldn’t help smiling at all the fun and clever rhymes for “China”! I’m of two minds because I don’t like country music, but it’s a good poem, able to be both serious and humorous.

Great job, Evan. All so true. I enjoyed the lyrics and the prolific use of “a” for many endings. I couldn’t help noticing a seeming
unnecessary apostrophe & “m” in the first word of the second verse though.

I can’t wait to hear it. There are several talented musicians who frequent this site who might be able to come up with a tune in the Country idiom.

Thank you all for your comments! And especially thank you to Mike Bryant who helped edit this piece for me.

This has not actually been set to music yet, but hopefully someone will pick it up and run with it. If you are interested, contact me at [email protected]

In case there are other people reading who don’t know me, I am a big fan of China’s traditional culture, language, and history. It is not the people I would put in hell but the political party, which is evil beyond evil. I suggest all Chinese people quit the CCP as soon as possible: https://www.tuidang.org/

Mannnn…. Evan! What a great, heartfelt song and great collaboration with Jeff Eardley.

I gotta say, Oliver Anthony better watch his back. I wonder… when you are a big, rich country music star, will you still talk to us poor, struggling poets???

My memories of “country” include so, so many mournful cadences. This is a piece that shows what singers do when the mourning becomes so overwhelming it sets them on fire!

They say that most guitars are made in China.
The one I play on this is so much finer.
Hand-crafted by an Englishman, it’s true.
Not by some dodgy sweatshop in Tangwu.

I think we have another song verse here! People may not realize this, but apparently Tangwu, China is known for producing much of the world’s stock of guitars. Brilliant wording.

Thank you, Jeff, for that and your exceptional guitar work, which exceed my singing abilities by many degrees.

And thank you Evan. A new career awaits you. I will be looking out for the album.
        Best wishes.

Cleverly rhymed. Johnny Cash meets Ogden Nash! (Actually that’s a poem in itself.)

You’re a poet and you don’t even know it… it’s terrible but I had to say it.
