I Saw An Angel Weeping

I saw an angel weeping
In the graveyard by the brook,
Her silent vigil keeping,
Yet when I turned to look,
She spread her wings before me
To shield me on my way,
And thus, did she implore me
To remember my dying day.
Now, when I stop and listen,
I still can hear her sighs,
And see her sweet eyes glisten,
Reminding me time flies.

I couldn’t resist your title and the poem that followed did it justice. Thank you for an uplifting beginning to the day.

This is a beautiful meaningful poem. I agree with jd’s comment about the title, such a lyrical line one is sure the poem to follow will do it justice and it does.
