“Night: Seaport by Moonlight" by Joseph Vernet ‘Love’ by Leonard Dabydeen The Society July 12, 2018 Beauty, Culture, Poetry 8 Comments Where a lamppost spreads a white spot light Nursing silent night with canny purr, A racoon crosses there in sudden flight. Where an old man walks his dog this hour With a leash that’s buckled to his hand, The dog stands briefly pat in belled collar. Where a beggar sits while others stand, Passersby don’t stop along their way, No one cares about his open hand. Life has parity that fills each day That’s beyond the scope of a tomorrow; How we see our world around at play Makes it important: share love, not sorrow.
