unfinished wall on southern U.S. border‘Come on Congress, Do Your Jobs’: A Poem on the Southern Border by Roy E. Peterson The Society March 4, 2024 Culture, Poetry 38 Comments . Do Your Jobs Live up to the Constitution That contains a plain solution. Guard us from invading mobs. Come on Congress, do your jobs. It’s really simple. Build a wall Along the border for us all. Illegal gangs keep causing fear. We need to know who’s coming here. Americans are getting killed— Another reason we must build. Only legal immigration Can protect a sovereign nation. Drugs are brought by immigrants— We need constant vigilance. Congress do your jobs for once. We, the People, aren’t your dunce. Taxpayers have to pay the bill For immigrants that come here still. What, are you drunk? Why do you stall? The time has come to build that wall! . . LTC Roy E. Some key requirements for legal immigration to the US: 1. Valid passport. 2. Invitation from a US company or citizen. 3. Gainfully employed by a company or supported by a US citizen. 4. Certificate from a trusted local doctor of no diseases. 5. Check with local authorities for no criminal issues. 6. US citizen relationships. 7. Immigration Application and Green Card Applicationcompleted and signed. Here is how it works: 1. Immigrant Visas and Green Cards: Most people seeking permanent residency (Green Cards) will need to complete at least two forms: an immigrant petition and a Green Card application (Form I-485). Usually, a sponsor files the petition on behalf of the legal immigrant, although one may file themselves. 2. Naturalization and U.S. Citizenship: To become a U.S. citizen through naturalization, you must meet certain criteria: a. Be a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder) for at least five years. b. Be married to a U.S. citizen. c. Be a U.S. military service member (active duty or veteran). d. Be a child of a U.S. citizen. 3. U.S. Immigration System Principles: a. Family Reunification: Prioritizing family unity. b. Skills-Based Immigration: Admitting immigrants with valuable skills for the U.S. economy. c. Refugee Protection: Providing refuge to those fleeing persecution. After five years legal immigrants must have a spotless good conduct record, pledge allegiance to the flag and fealty to the US Constitution in a ceremony. As Donald Trump said, “Building a wall means coming through the door.“ Immigration must be an orderly process to protect and secure the United States and its Citizens. Reply Joseph S. Salemi March 4, 2024 LTC Peterson, I’m very gratified that you took the trouble to post this important information for everyone to read. Since you were a visa-processing official of long standing with the U.S. Government, your words carry great weight, and cannot be called “fake news” or “conservative propaganda” or “Republican talking-points.” This material is FACTUAL and UNDENIABLE. Let’s see if our left-liberal hangers-on here will try to deny it or attack it. The corrupt and unelected Biden administration has deliberately trashed all semblance of legality in the question of immigration. That bureaucratic hack Mayorkas has refused to take any steps at all to deal with the problem, other than going after Texans who are trying to enforce the law. Let’s hope somebody in authority sets up those Browning M-2 .50 calibers soon. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Dr. Salemi, just before publication, I realized that many might not know legal immigration involves such things as disease and criminal control and the usual invitations from sponsors who are made responsible for them. There is no such process for illegal immigrants. I have noted in my research the overwhelming criminal element coming illegally as shown by crime statistics, the billions now spent annually both by the federal government and by state and local governments for things such as education, living expenses, and medical support. Thank you so much for noting the factual basis for my posting and comments. What else can we do? I sent a proposal to our Texas Governor to deputize all ranchers whose land abuts the border and give them the right to shoot infiltrators. I would mine the border and put outposts covering them with fields of fire. I have a thought that I have not articulated to officials that military bases be moved to the border and that would give a sense of defending something, as well as a great training opportunity. The bases could include not only state facilities, but federal ones such as moving Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Ord in California to the border. Reply Russel Winick March 4, 2024 Roy – I like your poem and agree with your sentiments. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Thank you, Russel. Reply Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 Roy, it’s great that you’re bringing attention to this obvious attack on the USA. Open borders are great as long as there is NO welfare state. That is how America prospered before 1914. When my great-grandfather arrived in New York, penniless as a refugee from Ireland’s potato famine, he was not given a dime by the government. Instead he got to work as a baker… hard labor in those days. He moved to San Antonio, Texas and owned and ran a successful bakery there. Before the current madness, legal and illegal immigration were both actually a net plus, not only for us but for any non-welfare state. How different it is now. Our government pays all travel expenses for anyone at all from anywhere at all to come on over. Then, if they aver that they fear returning, which is what the government-paid lawyers tell them to say, they are issued $10,000 dollar cash cards, put on the welfare rolls, housed and enrolled in Obamacare. What a sweet deal. If any situation is unsustainable… this is it! I wonder if Egypt opened up their stores when Joseph and Mary fled Bethlehem with the infant Jesus. That is what our loving federal government along with the great majority of our government-paid churches would like you to believe. No, this is not kindness, it is not care, it is not holiness. It is nothing less than the purposeful destruction of the good ol’ USA by the Cloward/Pivins strategy. It only works because we and our children have been propagandized for seventy years. God help us all… of course we can’t even believe in Him anymore… I wonder who started THAT great idea… hint, hint… The first letter is communism/fascism… Shhhh… don’t mention that it is a huge boon for the fentanyl drug kill-off, human slavery and child sex-trafficking… the bought and paid for churches don’t want to hear about that part either. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Michael, thank you for calling attention to the differences in legal immigration in the past to illegal immigration that saps our economy. My relatives had to process through places like Ellis Island and make it on their own. The Bible makes references to the need for walls against the enemy. You are right about the problem with Christians (I am one by the way) who can only see illegals as having a humanitarian right to come here. Reply Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 The only thing is, Roy, everything happening at the border IS legal. The problem is not legal vs. illegal. We now have LEGAL open borders combined with a welfare state. You can either have one or the other but not both. It is simple economics. Susan Jarvis Bryant March 4, 2024 Roy, the tyrants in control of the border situation (I say in control because I think all they do is deliberate) are drunk… drunk on the blood money crammed in their ever-growing coffers through the pain and death of human souls both sides of the border… especially the sex-trafficked children. I have absolutely nothing against immigrants. I am one. It took me seven years to become a citizen. During those years, I was presented with vast reams of paperwork… so difficult to complete, I had to hire an immigration lawyer to assist me for a fat fee. I was tested and examined for disease. I was vaccinated. I had to get two sponsors to agree to help me financially if I fell on hard times – the welfare system was not an option for this immigrant. I had to study American history and culture – which made clear that Communism was considered a crime and non-citizens were not allowed to vote. I traveled miles to for oral and written tests. I went through a biometrics process – facial recognition, iris scans, fingerprints etc. I moved here in 2011 and became a citizen in 2018. All immigrants are equal. Some are more equal than others. Thank you very much, Roy. Your poem has given me the opportunity to tell the side of the story many refuse to hear. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Excellent reinforcement of what is actually required of legal immigrants including the time involved, the testing, and I should have included vaccinations in my initial list above. No freebies were allowed, and the process was somewhat arduous involving lawyers, education, and endless paperwork. I am so glad you added your perspective to this discussion! Reply Susan Jarvis Bryant March 4, 2024 Roy, I must apologize. Your thought-provoking poem spurred me to respond without reading your informative comment beneath. Thank you so very much for laying out some key requirements for legal immigration to the US. Your list certainly makes it clear that there are rules for some and rules for others… and if you’re the wrong “other” you have to jump through so many hoops it makes your whole world spin and depletes your bank balance to boot. Roy, thanks again. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 I appreciate your comments very much and you are so correct! As I said, thank you for sharing your own experience. Brian A. Yapko March 4, 2024 Excellent poem with an extremely important and timely message, Roy. I echo your sentiments about illegal immigration and I’m also very grateful for all of the specific information you have provided about protocols in the comment section here. To have a completely porous border is a madness only someone desiring to stoke utter chaos could support. I’m trying to imagine China doing such a thing and can only conclude that they are laughing at us. Good fences make good neighbors. No fences means squatters are going to take over your house the minute you turn your back. I can’t stand it when people are so indiscrimantely compassionate that they lose all sense of self. And that’s true of nations as well. But it’s not even compassion. If all of those illegal immigrants vowed to vote Republican you’d have whiplash from seeing how fast Democrats would seal the border. Cynical, corrupt, manipulative… but they’re so nice. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Brian, I heard on the news today that 40,000 Chinese males of military age have been intercepted at the border! Who knows how many avoid detention or what their motives might be. You are completely attuned with your comment about “indiscriminately compassionate” do-gooders. I am certain that the democrats think they all will be voters for their party even if illegally. Reply Margaret Coats March 4, 2024 Roy, thanks for your attention to this matter and for the information you provide. I also like your suggestion about using Army personnel, as it would give a sense of purpose so often lacking to recruits during a dreary six-year enlistment. It could, as well, involve appropriate assignment of enlisted legal immigrants (having already sworn allegiance to the USA) to protect against those who steal the benefits they are serving for. I recall serving with foreigners who willingly gave an additional year of their lives (compared to us who enlisted as Americans) to earn citizenship. They had a spirit to benefit us all. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Margaret, that is a perfect perspective that makes so much sense. They would have increased motivation and receive real world preparation and training. Reply Cheryl Corey March 4, 2024 It’s gotten so bad that it’s going to take more than building a wall (electric fence works for me). The administration, working with NGOs (which need to be defunded) and globalist organizations like the UN, are building centers in central America to facilitate migration, granting refugee status in advance and flying some directly into our country to change optics and fudge the numbers counted as illegal. I think that at some point we’ll have to put military on the border and use special ops to eliminate cartels. And gee, where are all the so-called environmentalists? You don’t see them cleaning up all the crap migrants leave behind. Reply Susan Jarvis Bryant March 4, 2024 Cheryl, we are in the midst of a cultural war. The bulk of those pouring through borders all over the Western world are military aged men. In England and Ireland they are being housed at ex-miliary facilities (I’ve seen the residents protesting outside the Royal Airforce military base at Scampton UK) and given the money and freedom to roam the towns and villages, which is precisely why schoolchildren in Ireland were stabbed. It’s the same all over Europe. Take a look at Sweden, France, Germany, Austria etc. etc. This is where we’re at… although, the majority aren’t willing to see it or say it… but danger is getting ever-closer to our doorstep every single day. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 I just noted in another comment above before seeing yours that 40,000 Chinese men of military age have recently been picked up at our southern border. Who knows how many more have penetrated our country! Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 Roy, the article I read said that those app. 40,000 Chinese men were “encountered” at our border NOT “picked up” as you just said. https://nypost.com/2023/08/31/chinese-illegal-migrant-numbers-boom-as-beijing-tensions-grow/ Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 You are right, Susan. In fact, whether we realize it or not, unless we are in the upper echelons of the government or a billionaire, we are dispensable/disposable. We don’t matter. Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Mike, I am convinced “encountered” means “apprehended,” or picked up. Here a New York Post citation from last year: “Between Oct. 1, 2019 and Sept. 30, 2020, CBP reports, 18,395 Chinese migrants ‘were caught’ attempting to enter the US. That figure climbed to 23,471 in fiscal year 2021 and 27,756 in fiscal year 2022. As of Aug. 1, (2003), the number of Chinese migrant encounters is already up 43% over the number encountered in all of fiscal year 2022, driven by at least 4,000 stops per month beginning in March of this year. https://nypost.com/2023/08/31/chinese-illegal-migrant-numbers-boom-as-beijing-tensions-grow/ Note “were caught” “sopts” and “encountered” were all used interchangeably in the article. Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 Roy from October 2022 till June 2023 100,000 Chinese entered the USA. Do you think Biden slowed it down since then or sped it up? See this old article: https://thediplomat.com/2023/06/why-are-more-and-more-chinese-migrants-risking-their-lives-to-cross-the-us-southern-border/ Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Mike, that should be “stops,” of course in the last line of my last comment using the NY Post. Mike Bryant March 4, 2024 https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/08/americas/china-us-migrants-illegal-crossings-intl-hnk-dst/index.html The graph on the page above shows that near 100,000 Chinese sought asylum in 2023. Because they are seeking asylum, the Biden dictates require they are housed while awaiting their asylum hearing. Roy Eugene Peterson March 5, 2024 Mike, Biden is the problem regardless of the numbers. One rapist, murderer, terrorist, or spy is one too many and we are inviting so many unchecked illegals to enter. I also noted in a news article (from memory) the questions now asked have been reduced from 80 or 90 to eight when they are apprehended. Mike Bryant March 5, 2024 Yeah Roy, 1. What city would you like us to take you to? 2. Would you like to go by bus or plane? 3. How many $10,000 cash cards do you require? 4. Do you have any allergies? 5. Do you have any special food or health requirements? 6. Do you need a firearm? 7. What type of entertainment would you like? 8. Is there anything else we can do for you? Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 You are correct about it becoming a lucrative business in addition to the drugs and sex traffickers! Corruption breeds corruption and the rest of us suffer. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Mike, I either inferred pick up, since how else would they know, or the radio news station reported it that way. I was going from memory of a couple of days ago. C.B. Anderson March 4, 2024 Do their jobs? That rarely happens, except in the sense that they know their only real job is trying to get re-elected. They don’t love us and apparently don’t care what happens to us, unless we vote Democrat. A pox on the Demonicrats in both houses. Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 You are so correct! Reply Phil S. Rogers March 5, 2024 Roy; right on target. Would you consider running for the White House? Reply Roy Eugene Peterson March 5, 2024 Bless you, Phil. At one time I wanted to do that, but life had other plans. Thank you for the kind thought.
See this old article: https://thediplomat.com/2023/06/why-are-more-and-more-chinese-migrants-risking-their-lives-to-cross-the-us-southern-border/
Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Mike, that should be “stops,” of course in the last line of my last comment using the NY Post.
Reply
Roy Eugene Peterson March 4, 2024 Mike, I either inferred pick up, since how else would they know, or the radio news station reported it that way.
Reply
Phil S. Rogers March 5, 2024 Roy; right on target. Would you consider running for the White House? Reply
Roy Eugene Peterson March 5, 2024 Bless you, Phil. At one time I wanted to do that, but life had other plans. Thank you for the kind thought. Reply
Galin Elias Franklin March 5, 2024 SCREW THE YOBS I believe that constipation Leads to moral enervation. Guard us from self-righteous slobs. Come on America, screw the yobs. It’s really simple. Heed the call, An empathetic thrust will cure them all. The initial pangs should cause no fear. We need to know what blocks the rear. True Americans have had enough— Now’s the time to show our stuff. Only moral regeneration Can protect a sovereign nation. Those drugged up Christo-fascist boys Conceal and carry their deadly toys. America, screw them till they love us good. We, the People, must spare no wood. Loyal folks have paid a steep price For culture conmen to throw the dice. Yahoos, drink down your cool-aid dry. Your time has come: tear down that sty! . Reply
Joseph S. Salemi March 5, 2024 Look who’s back — the little left-wing shyster. As I’ve mentioned before here, the people who hate our guts are fascinated by us, and can’t stay away. It’s kind of flattering. Reply
Galin Elias Franklin March 5, 2024 I answered your call Salemi. You seem to have missed me. You see, I have a heart. By the way, I liked your essay on Wilmot. More of that and less of your yahoo politicking.
Joseph S. Salemi March 5, 2024 My “politicking” will continue, until people like yourself are completely stripped of the malign influence you hold over ordinary Americans.
