Certificate in Classical Poetry Writing and Education

If your submission to the 2020 Poetry Competition meets the basic requirements for meter and demonstrates a basic understanding of classical poetry, you will qualify for the granting of a Certificate in Classical Poetry Writing and Education from the Society of Classical Poets (indicating up to fifteen hours of professional development completed).

Just indicate that you want a Certificate in your initial submission or email submissions@classicalpoets.org.

If your poetry meets the basic requirements, you will be emailed a PDF copy of the Certificate, which will indicate a grade of Pass, Good, or Excellent based on the quality of your poetry, as well as the number of standardized hours completed based on the number of lines of poetry submitted and the intrinsic time spent reading poetry, learning about poetry, and writing poetry (totaling between five hours minimum and fifteen hours maximum).

If you want a hard copy of the Certificate, it is an additional $20, which includes shipping to the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom. Indicate that you want a hard copy in your request.
