The Fairy Godmother
for Susan Jarvis Bryant
The fairy sings so far away and lifts
My spirit, day by day through fading light;
With every word well measured, clear inspite
Of distance, space and time. The season shifts
Along with changing faces; yet her voice
Remains the same, now deeply etched within
To flow with blood below my hardened skin;
Thus God may leave to man no chance nor choice
Yet send forth faith and warmth in unknown forms
To hold in equipoise, the lurking storms.

Well done, Sir!
Greetings, Sir!
Thank you so much.
Wow, Cinderfella… amazing.
Now, do as your Hairy Godfather says…
finish your chores, wash your feet
then go outside and wait.
Destiny is riding your way.
Mike Sir, greetings!
Cinderfella! What a great name! Glad you enjoyed the poem.
And that sense of humour is breathtaking!
A very fine tribute, Satyananda, to a beloved poet.
Thank you, Brian Sir! Always a lovely feeling to get acknowledged by you.
Best wishes.
Beautiful tribute to one of our classy and classical greats!
Absolutely. The classy fairy Godmother for me.
Glad to have your words here. Thanks a ton!
Satyananda, what a beautiful poetic gift. It is a real treat to have a poem written in my honor, and I thank you wholeheartedly for every amazing word of it. I am humbled by your generosity and most grateful.
Greetings, Fairy Godmother!
Your words have always been uplifting and educative. I’ve learnt so much from you. This poem is a tiny attempt to put all of that into words.
If any of our poets deserve to be praised in this way, Susan is definitely one of them!
I had one published here two months ago: https://classicalpoets.org/2023/08/07/the-certainty-of-kelly-green-a-poem-by-joshua-c-frank/
Maybe we can start a trend!
Thanks a ton. Susan ma’am is a star already!
